Modern Tribes is the largest and most recent study of households in Costa Rica. It will help you understand how many household types exist in the country and what they are, how they organise themselves, the roles of their members, and their dynamics of demand and consumption of goods and services, among many other subjects. This mega-study was carried out in two major phases. Qualitative: 30 ethnographic encounters with households of different types, both inside and outside the Greater Metropolitan Area, and more than 120 hours of visits analysing how the different household members interact. Quantitative: 1,200 face-to-face interviews nationwide, at a 95% confidence level with a 2.8% margin of error.
